It is the mission of the Criminal Justice Academy (CJA/Academy) to foster and uphold prescribed laws and regulations by providing mandated basic and advanced training to law enforcement personnel and maintaining a continuous certification process to ensure that only the most qualified persons are sanctioned by the state to enforce its laws. Healing-Centered Practices: Include restorative justice circles, family reunification support, and trauma-informed case management rooted in culturally specific traditions and peer engagement. Applicants must submit proposals through the State of Maine Vendor Self Service portal, with preliminary questions due January 13, 2026, and proposals due January 28, 2026; the anticipated contract period begins March 1, 2026 through December 31, 2028. Approximately $1.2 million in FY2026 funding is estimated to be available, and award(s) may be statewide with reporting required via Maine JobLink or approved alternative systems.
