The City of Fernley is soliciting statements of qualifications from engineering consultants for the expansion and improvement of its water treatment plant to treat surface water from the Truckee River. The project scope includes modifications for PFAS removal, taste and odor control, and site improvements such as new sedimentation basins and reservoir overflow channels. The selected consultant will also provide electrical and SCADA integration, regulatory permitting support, and construction-related services.

Project location includes The City of Hubbard Water Treatment Plant at 3101 2nd St., areas located on 2nd St., and on the lot at 3050 2nd St.. The work to be performed consists of upgrading the WTP and includes removal and/or relocation of existing equipment at the site; furnishing and installing new equipment including a new pump system, water filter unit, filter media, upgraded backup generator, updated SCADA system, a new well house; and the associated civil, architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical improvements required to support the project.
