Progressive Design-Build project for new sewer main construction, stream restoration, and stormwater infrastructure analysis and upgrade.

This project intends to reroute a segment of gravity line and replace an existing Pump Station and Force Main serving the I-65 Northbound Welcome Center in Simpson County, KY. The gravity portion will require directional bore under a pavement segment to maintain truck traffic. The manhole immediately upstream of the station will be replaced with a “pretreatment” grinder/manhole combination called a “Muffin Monster”. The current station has developed consistent malfunction and requires the KYTC to mobilize a pump trunk to evacuate the existing pump station wet well at an exorbitant monthly cost. It is suspect the existing force main has developed downstream issues affecting the ability of the existing system to function. The KYTC, through the KY Dept of Finance and DECA, elected to replace the station and force main. A portion of the force main traverse’s private property (KY DOWNS Gaming, Horse Racing and Hotel Complex) and will require a utility easement for new routing until it ends at an existing sewer manhole owned and maintained by the City of Franklin. This manhole will be reconstructed as part of the project.

In certain instances, the work may also include the construction of new sidewalks in areas where no existing sidewalk is present, as well as the removal of asphalt up to 4" in depth. Work may additionally require the placement or removal of excess soil to accommodate the installation of 4" or 6" concrete to the specified grade and elevation, 575,000 SF replace concrete 4"; 15,000 SF new concrete 4"; 500 EA concrete pedestrian ramps, including detectable warning surface, curb, asphalt patch (CR-A through CR-L including medians); 125 EA concrete pedestrian ramps, including detectable warning surface, curb, asphalt patch (radial sidewalk ramps). The solicitation (SV0218-26) issued by Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR) seeks electrical infrastructure upgrades—including a new utility service with a pad-mounted transformer and distribution equipment upgrades—to support new and future injection molding machines at FCI Butner. It is a Small Business (SBA) set-aside under NAICS 238210 and includes technical specifications and bond forms attached. The place of performance is Butner, NC and the solicitation was posted on 2026-06-23 with proposals due 2026-08-05.

Provision of infrastructure sustainability & modernization assessment.

Work include improvements to two (2) wastewater pump stations, the wastewater treatment facilities, headworks infrastructure, scada systems, and associated appurtenances. The vsd also intends to purchase sewer main inspection and cleaning equipment.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District issued a presolicitation (W912P926BA008) to provide federal construction assistance to the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) for sewer rehabilitation using Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) methods. The initial work covers approximately 2,675 linear feet of 21- to 24-inch sewers within MSD Service Area 1, performed at various sites across the MSD service area in St. Louis City and St. Louis County, MO. This notice is a procurement presolicitation (not a grant) and is active on SAM.gov; solicitation documents will be made available through the PIEE solicitation module.
