Description: The City of Calgary is soliciting proposals for engineering services to address its Downtown East Siphon, a 1,200 mm steel wastewater siphon installed in 1981 that crosses the Elbow River and is nearing the end of its service life. The project is treated as a high-risk, high-criticality asset with no redundancy, and the scope proceeds through conceptual and preliminary design, detailed design and construction-procurement documents, contract administration and field services, and post-construction closeout, subject to City approval at each phase. This is an open, limited-opportunity Request for Proposal for services, not a grant, and is restricted to consultants listed in the City’s RFSO.

Traffic signal upgrades project. Replace old sleeved mast arm and signal heads/signage at northeast corner. Replace ts-1 controller assembly with ts-2 and battery backup. Modify existing foundation to accommodate new cabinet; provide new radar/video vehicular detection (advance dilemma zone and stop bar); provide pedestrian countdown heads. Provide new stub poles and pedestals with latching LED pushbuttons & signage. Install new conduit crossing under Lancaster Avenue. Connection to UCC. Add retroreflective backplates to existing overhead signals to remain. Township to obtain traffic signal easement at northeast corner to accommodate new equipment. Refresh stop bar and crosswalk pavement markings.

The project consists of upgrades to the Village of Huntley's East and West Wastewater Treatment Plants. The East work includes electrical distribution improvements, mechanical and plumbing upgrades to Control Building 1, Demolition to Final Clarifier 1, Aerobic Digester Piping improvements, Oxidation Ditch mechanical equipment replacement and removal and replacement of the air compressor. The West WWTP includes UV system upgrades, Removal and Replacement of Sludge Pump, Non-potable water upgrades, removal and replacement of dissolved oxygen probes for Oxidation Ditch No 3, Diffuser Grid Equipment upgrades for the Aerobic Digesters, complete with tank cleaning and the removal and replacement of the air compressor as shown in the plans.
