The Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP), administered by the Transportation Research Board and funded by the Federal Transit Administration, has issued an RFP titled 'Automation of Light Rail Transit Services' (Project A-59) to investigate how public transit agencies should approach deploying automation in light rail systems. The contract has not yet been awarded and the project, valued at $171,930, is seeking qualified research performers to document the current landscape of LRT automation, assess operational and policy challenges, and develop a practical decision-making guidebook for agencies. The contract is open for competitive proposals with a recorded proposal-due date of August 13, 2026.

Seeking proposal for transit mix with and without fiber.

The Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) seeks proposals for transit management services to operate its public transportation services, including fixed route and demand response systems, and manage associated vehicles, equipment, and facilities.

Provide pantograph charging for the Beaverton Transit Center. Provide preconstruction services, project management, all necessary pantograph bus charging equipment, labor, and commissioning for the installation of Electric Vehicle (EV) equipment at the Beaverton Transit Center (BTC). The site will be prepared as “Make Ready” for the installation of the EV equipment per an agreed upon start date between the selected contractor and TriMet Project Manager.

Consultants to support the development of a transit plan for the Madison Region. The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) seeks qualified vendors to design, supply, and install a video mirror system on its fixed-route transit buses to improve driver visibility and safety. The work includes procurement of cameras, monitors, mounting hardware, electrical integration with existing bus systems, installation, system testing, and training/documentation for maintenance staff, and requires compliance with applicable DOT safety and accessibility standards.
