The 2025-2026 'State of the District' report provides an overview of demographics, academic achievements, and the strategic transition to Basic Aid status. It highlights the 'Portrait of a Graduate' initiative as a guiding vision, encompassing student, adult, and system components, fostering innovation through various programs like robotics, sustainability, and language instruction. The report also addresses governance responsibilities and communication strategies for navigating future opportunities.

The report reviews criteria and standards for the fiscal year 2025-26, including average daily attendance, enrollment, LCFF revenue, salaries and benefits, other revenues and expenditures, ongoing and major maintenance account, deficit spending, fund balance, and reserves. It also covers supplemental information such as contingent liabilities, use of one-time revenues, temporary interfund borrowings, contingent revenues, contributions, long-term commitments, postemployment benefits, self-insurance benefits, and the status of labor agreements. Additional fiscal indicators like negative cash flow, independent position control, declining enrollment, new charter schools, salary increases exceeding COLA, uncapped health benefits, independent financial system, fiscal distress reports, and changes in CBO or Superintendent are also assessed.
