Air Force Sustainment Center

Six modular and scalable freeze protection modules (FPM) for the basic expeditionary airfield resources (BEAR) water system components. The basic expeditionary airfield resources (BEAR) water system is modular and scalable in 550 personnel support increments up to 3,300 personnel to meet a variety of user deployment needs. The bear water system can draw water from a natural source, purify, store, and distribute the water while maintaining sufficient pressure, quantity, and quality for an entire base. Depending on the selected modular configuration, the water system can supply 30 gal. of water per person per day (gpppd) for a 1100-person camp and maintain enough storage capacity to sustain the camp for four days with no new water introduction.
