Galveston Ave Pressure Reducing Valve Replacement and Pedestrian Crossing RFP

Description: Construction of the Galveston Ave Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) Replacement and Pedestrian Crossing. The Work includes installation of a new 6" pressure reducing valve within a precast utility vault, along with all associated piping, fittings, and ancillary valves required for proper operation. The new vault will be connected to the existing water system through approx. 150 LF of 8" ductile iron water main with restrained joints. The scope also includes reconfiguration of existing piping and valves in the intersection of NW 17th Street and Galveston Avenue as necessary to integrate and ensure proper operation of the new PRV. The work further includes removal of the existing pressure reducing valve vault and associated facilities at the intersection of NW 17th Street and Galveston Avenue, along with any piping modifications necessary to accommodate the new PRV installation. This project also includes construction of a new raised pedestrian crossing to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility in the project area. Work associated with the crossing includes removal and reconstruction of roadway surfaces, pavement markings, signage modifications, and all associated improvements necessary to provide a fully functional crossing. Surface restoration, traffic control, erosion control, and coordination with existing utilities will be required as necessary to complete this work.
