The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Veterans Day National Committee are accepting submissions for the 2026 National Veterans Day Poster Contest to honor America’s Veterans through art. The contest is open to all artists and follows the theme “Veterans Helping Veterans and Their Families.” Submissions are due by April 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, and technical requirements are outlined on VA’s official guidelines page.

Under Alaska Administrative Order 360, the Alaska Department of Military and Veterans Affairs’ Alaska Office of Veterans Affairs is soliciting public input on potential regulatory revisions to 10 AAC 10.010–10.900 and 10 AAC 30.010–10.900. The notice seeks written and oral comments with the goal of clarifying obligations, streamlining processes, reducing burdens, and improving transparency before any draft regulations are proposed. Written comments are due by 5:00 pm on March 26, 2026, with a virtual hearing scheduled for March 18, 2026.

The project consists of utility extensions from the Veterans Parkway Roundabout (0.57 miles south of Cleveland Road) to Cleveland Road. Extensions will include sanitary sewer (up to 15"), water main (up to 20"), and conduits. In addition to utility extensions, a utility service road will be constructed within future Veterans Parkway corridor and a box culvert crossing a tributary of Juday Creek in addition to other pertinent work.

The contract will integrate existing systems and consolidate functionality to reduce duplication of effort and improve operational efficiency. The California Department of General Services is soliciting bids for the replacement of approximately 340 air handler units and fan coils at the Veterans Home of California in Barstow. The project includes the installation of new HVAC units, DDC controllers, piping, and smoke detectors, with an estimated cost of $10,934,300.
