Custer County

The Custer County Economic Prosperity Strategic Plan is a community-driven vision intended to guide the County in implementing goals, priorities, and strategies that directly contribute to its economic development. The plan focuses on three priority areas: business expansion, attraction and retention; infrastructure; and tourism. It aims to create policies and support that will encourage economic and social success for everyone in the county. The plan emphasizes preserving the county's lifestyle, supporting the community, and fostering government collaboration to protect assets and leverage them for the future.

The meeting addressed capital improvements, including the need for facility upgrades at the Saddle Club. Discussions included securing land ownership for grant eligibility, hiring an engineer for a master plan, and short-term improvements such as fence repair, hog pen reinforcement, and roof repairs. Other topics included the Flying W Wranglers performance, fair book corrections, review of code of conduct, superintendents' roles and responsibilities, protest forms, by-laws, and the selection of a county fair veterinarian. The meeting also covered livestock weigh-in details, project fair preparations, and the use of fair entry software.
