Transit Development Plan

Description: The City of Round Rock, herein after “the City” seeks proposals from firms experienced in preparing Transit Development Plans (TDP). The TDP will be a guiding document for the City’s transit system and will help shape how and where bus services are provided, along with a vision for long-term service expansion including financial and infrastructure needs. The City of Round Rock (CORR) is located 20 miles north of downtown Austin and is nationally recognized as one of the country’s most livable towns with an estimated population of 141,000 people. CORR is a direct recipient of Section 5307 program funds as apportioned to the Austin Urbanized Area (UZA). CORR operates 5 days a week for both fixed route and paratransit service. Fixed route transit service is currently operated by Capital Metropolitan Transit Authority through an Interlocal Agreement. This agreement between CORR and Capital Metro allows for an integration of fixed routes to provide seamless travel between Round Rock and Austin. CORR also provides a combined Microtransit (on demand) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit services that operate concurrently with the fixed route system through a contractual agreement with zTrip. CORR owns and operates an intermodal transit & parking facility located near downtown Round Rock. This facility is used as a park and ride lot for express bus service into downtown Austin and as a transfer point for local bus routes. The facility is also utilized by the Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) as a ticketing agent for Greyhound Bus Lines and their interurban routes making connections to rural communities.
