Description: Professional Development (Literacy Grades 2-6) which include the following considerations: Provide comprehensive, yearlong professional learning and job-embedded coaching program to strengthen literacy instruction in grades 2 through 6. Provide districtwide professional development workshops, school-based coaching cycles, collaborative lesson and unit planning, analysis of student data and student work, classroom demonstration lessons, support for differentiated and small-group instruction, and leadership development for administrators, supervisors, and instructional leaders. Assist the District in strengthening standards-aligned literacy instruction, increasing students' supported access to grade-level complex texts, integrating reading and writing instruction, improving purposeful student discourse and higher-order thinking, and using assessment evidence to guide instructional decisions.
