McIntosh Power Plant Cooling Tower Distribution System Replacement

Description: The City of Lakeland, through Lakeland Electric, seeks a qualified contractor to replace the existing cooling-water distribution system serving the eight-cell cooling tower at McIntosh Power Plant. The work includes removing header and lateral piping and spray nozzles, furnishing and installing new FRP header piping, PVC laterals, and ATP sprayer nozzles or an approved equivalent, plus handling, rigging, drift-eliminator work, and cleanup. The mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for September 30, 2026, the proposal deadline is October 14, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern, and the work must be completed during the Spring 2027 outage with return to service by May 17, 2027.
