IPSWICH WATER TREATMENT PLANT REPLACEMENT

Description: The Town of Ipswich is soliciting bids in an open construction procurement, not a grant program, for replacement of its water treatment plant. The work includes a new 2.5-million-gallon-per-day plant and associated chlorine contact tank, clearwell, pumping station, equalization tank, generator, stormwater controls, yard piping, and rehabilitation of residuals-handling lagoons. Only prequalified contractors may bid, and submissions are due September 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM; the project is subject to American Iron and Steel and Build America, Buy America requirements.

Project includes the construction of a new Water Treatment Plant, two-celled Chlorine Contact Tank, two-celled Clearwell, Finished Water Pumping Station, Spent Washwater Equalization Tank, a Generator, Stormwater BMPs and Yard Piping as well as rehabilitation of the existing Residuals Handling lagoons. The new Water Treatment Plant will be approx 190 by 77' and will consist of a process area with a pre-oxidation tank, three DAF units, and three filters. There will also be chemical rooms, and an administration area.

Atkins Water Treatment Plant Roof Replacement (Invitation For Bid)
Work includes roof replacement. The roof will be completely removed in a "tear-off" application. The "tear-off" application includes complete removal of all roofing components (asphalt shingles, underlayment, edge metal and wood trim down to the roof decking level (plywood), followed by the installation of new single-ply roofing system (adhered 90-mil EPDM) according to 225 CMR 23.00 Massachusetts commercial stretch energy code, which is based on the 2021 international energy conservation code (IECC), roof replacement "tear-off" projects need to comply with the energy performance requirements for new construction. Therefore, insulation is required to be installed continuously above the roof deck with a maximum roof assembly U-factor of U-0.032, which is a minimum r-value of approx. R-31.25. See attached file.
