Analysis of Radiocarbon

Description: The University of Waterloo's Environmental Isotope Laboratory (EIL) within the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences is seeking a supplier to provide radiocarbon (14C) analysis services on a per-sample basis for the period from September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2029. Since UW does not operate an Accelerated Mass Spectrometer (AMS), they must subcontract radiocarbon analyses to an external facility meeting strict specifications for accuracy (±20-25 years for samples younger than 5,000 years), turnaround time (within 4 weeks), and sample size (as low as 0.5 mL of CO2 in 6 mm quartz breakseals), with a target cost of approximately $300 USD per sample.
