City of Virginia Beach

The project includes the retrofitting of a lake into a Level 2 Pond. This will include the construction of two pretreatment forebays at the north and south inlets. The forebays will need to be accessible 20 LF of reinforced turf path. This project will also include the construction of a wetland cell at the outlet of the northern forebay and aquatic benching established along the eastern side of the lake with both having coir fiber logs to aid in erosion stabilization. Two pond aerators will be installed in the north and south of the existing lake. Through these additions, utilities, fences, and trees will be removed in select locations. Vegetation will be maintained when it is healthy and native. The work will also include dredging and removal of material from the existing pond. See attached file.
