Seeking proposals from qualified firms for a solid waste and recyclables collection system. Proposers should be aware that, through this proposal process, the City is requesting pricing for a five (5)-day-per-week collection schedule, processing and marketing of the City’s recyclables, and on-call hauling services. The City’s Solid Waste Division collects solid waste from approximately 11,800 residential accounts. The City provides service to residents within the City’s incorporated limits. Currently, the City collects residential waste once per week using 90-gallon Roll Carts serviced by automated side-loader trucks. The City also provides bulk material and yard waste collection on the same day as garbage using rear-loader trucks. The City has 41 households receiving backdoor service for medical or hardship reasons. In addition, approximately 80 residents are serviced on historic roads and in hard-to-service areas due to limited vehicle access.
