Town of Hastings

The Town Board discussed and approved several resolutions including an agreement with Barton & Loguidice for professional engineering and grant writing services to support the Lighthouse Park Improvement Project and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program. The board also officially rescheduled its regular monthly meeting. Additionally, the board approved and endorsed a grant application for the Caughdenoy Dam Park Improvements project, authorizing the commitment of required local matching funds. Finally, the board authorized the issuance of a request for expressions of interest for consultant services to prepare a Transportation Alternatives Program grant application and for future engineering services related to sidewalk construction in the Brewerton Hamlet.

The board discussed summer programs offered by the NC HUB and received a status update regarding planning and grant funding for improvements at Lighthouse Park. Several resolutions were passed, including approval of claims, authorization to bid for the Highway Garage roof replacement, acceptance of professional service donations for local parks, approval of a land lease agreement with Verizon Wireless, and a change in the pay frequency for the Chief Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. Additionally, the board adopted a bond resolution for the acquisition, construction, and equipment of the South-Central Sanitary Sewer District.

The meeting included a discussion regarding the need for a town-wide property reassessment to address declining equalization rates and rising market values. The Board approved the payment of claims, the Independent Accountant's Report for the Justice Court, and the bid from DeWald Roofing for a highway garage re-roofing project.
