Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District
Edgewater Beach Surge Tunnel (EBST) will eliminate the CSO-069 outfall. CSO-069 is currently fully controlled during typical year rain events but activates during heavy storms due to elevated flow levels in the District's Northwest Interceptor. The EBST project includes a 1,350-foot long, 10- to 12-foot diameter tunnel built in rock, including a diversion structure, drop shaft, and junction chamber. The system will be designed to convey flow and provide surge relief to the Northwest Interceptor during larger storm events.
