The board discussed several key topics including curriculum adoption recommendations for middle school science and social studies, an annual report regarding sexual harassment of students and a proposed revision to the district procedure, and a fixed assets audit report. The board also reviewed an indoor air quality grant request for proposal, discussed the upcoming WIAA enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year, and agreed to commission a facilities and long-range planning committee. The board convened to discuss a proposed Modified Education Program in response to a significant budget shortfall. A major portion of the meeting was dedicated to public comment, during which numerous community members, parents, teachers, and students voiced concerns regarding the potential impact of proposed budget cuts on various programs, specifically the ELL program, RA program, M.E.A.D. program, para-educator staffing, and social worker roles. The board also held an executive session to review the performance of a public employee.
