Identified hazard trees will be marked with green or blue tracer paint and would be felled using hand tools (such as chainsaws) or mechanized equipment such as feller-bunchers. Cut trees shall be felled away from boundaries, roads, telephone lines, established trails, stock driveways, fence lines, established land corners and streams. Stump height shall not exceed 12 inches above ground level. Felled trees will be decked at a forest service approved site and it is expected that contractor who is awarded the project will purchase these log decks from the forest service and at base rates.
