This document outlines strategic guidelines for property tax incentives designed to encourage economic development within the City of Chamblee. It establishes a framework for decision-making and communicates economic development priorities and goals to developers and the public. Key focus areas for evaluating incentive requests include job creation, housing diversity, public infrastructure investment, historic preservation, fostering new concept or catalyst projects, and environmental conditions and sustainability, all aimed at achieving substantial positive community benefits.

The City of Chamblee's strategic plan, adopted in 2024, outlines a roadmap for advancing the City Council's goals. It establishes six strategic priorities: fostering an active and healthy community, ensuring a safe and prepared community, promoting sustainability, achieving governmental excellence, cultivating an engaged and connected community, and building an economically prosperous and resilient community. These priorities guide staff actions to enhance recreation, public safety, environmental stewardship, fiscal health, community engagement, and economic development.

The Chamblee Mobility Plan is a comprehensive transportation plan for the City of Chamblee. It provides a data-driven, community-supported framework for how Chamblee should invest in its transportation system over the next 20 years. The plan recommends over 30 sidewalk infill projects, expansions of a multi-use path network, and projects to connect and cross barriers. It also recommends policy changes for the City, affecting both development regulations and general day-to-day actions, that help to reinforce the principles of the Mobility Plan.

The Chamblee Sustainability Plan provides a vision for the future sustainable development of Chamblee, identifying seven priority sustainability issues: land use, transportation, materials management, energy, water, food, and governance & outreach. The plan focuses on initiatives such as mitigating urban heat islands, improving urban tree canopy, increasing accessibility to sustainable transportation, promoting sustainable waste management, improving energy codes, and sustainably managing water resources. It also aims to support community engagement through urban agriculture and enhance governance and outreach efforts to empower organizations and raise awareness among citizens.

The Chamblee Town Center Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) 10-Year Update focuses on reevaluating and building upon 12 years of planning near the MARTA Station, expanding Chamblee's LCI study boundaries, and detailing a vision for the future of the study area through community input and public workshops. Key areas of focus include enhancing Chamblee's sense of place, increasing walkability, improving the Chamblee MARTA rail station area, providing a higher quality of life, and adding more places to work, shop, and have fun. The plan aims to clarify the vision and future market potential of the Chamblee Downtown and MARTA rail station area, provide additional detail and direction to the City of Chamblee comprehensive plans, offer recommendations to improve local zoning regulations, encourage appropriate future development/redevelopment, and prioritize public improvement projects.
