The existing water system will remain operational until installation and testing of the new waterline is complete and approved. Three wet-taps are required and one cut-in connection at the intersection of patterson and cut-off roads which will effectively loop the distribution system with existing mains. Approximately, 1,950 lineal feet of trenching through improved hard surfaces is required including replacement of said surface. The remainder of the proposed waterline is outside of existing roadways. There are numerous instances of work near existing gas lines that require minimum horizontal separation, vertical clearance, and polywrapping of new water lines. Locations of said gas lines shall be verified by potholes by the contractor.
