City of Bullhead City

The Bullhead City Council meeting included discussions on the summer camp, city budget workshop, the grand opening of The Abbott, Highway 95 and Merrill Intersection, and the right turn lane at Mohave High/Thunderstruck. The council approved a division of improvement district assessments, an intergovernmental agreement with Mohave County for housing assistance programs, and an agreement with the Bullhead City Pest Abatement District. They also renewed membership in the Northwest Arizona Employee Benefits Trust. A recommendation was made to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control to approve a new liquor license for The Sushi Spot, and to the Arizona Department of Revenue to approve a Class A Bingo License for the Silver View RV Resort. The council also discussed and acted on an appeal regarding a Conditional Use Permit for a proposed RV storage facility, approved an intergovernmental agreement with the State of Arizona for scoping work related to a potential raised median on the Bullhead Parkway, and approved a change order for the Wet Well Rehabilitation at Lift Station 18-1. Additionally, they approved an amendment to the agreement for the Laughlin Ranch Well 1 New Pump Installation, adopted a resolution approving an amendment to the System Conservation Implementation Agreement with the United States Bureau of Reclamation, and approved a Management and Use Agreement for Bullhead City Middle School Athletic Fields. The council also approved an agreement for animal cremation equipment for the Bullhead City Animal Resource Center, and an intergovernmental agreement between Lake Havasu City and Bullhead City Municipal Courts for weekend and holiday coverage services. Furthermore, they approved an amendment to the Bullhead City Municipal Code regarding public access to the Colorado River, and approved the Title VI Plan for public transportation programs. Finally, they approved the issuance of tax-exempt bonds.

The council meeting included a presentation from the Morning Kiwanis Club, proclamations for Recovery in the Park and Hunger Awareness Month, and an update from Optimum Communications. A public hearing was held to discuss the intent to increase water and wastewater rates, but no action was taken. The council recommended approval of a bar license application for The Pour House. Approvals were granted for a Memorandum of Understanding with Lake Havasu City for shared use of the police department's radio system, a budget amendment for the development of shade structures and paths for the Rotary Park pickleball courts, and the removal of a traffic median. The southwest beach area within Rotary Park was named "Sandy Toes Beach," and rules for the dog beach were approved. Council members were appointed to the Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG) Executive Board and the Rural Transportation Advocacy Council (RTAC). The new ADA Mobility Ramp in Community Park was named the "Ciaran Riley and Friends ADA Mobility Ramp".

The Bullhead City Council meeting included discussions and actions on various topics. Proclamations were made for Elder Abuse Awareness Month and Flag Day. The council approved the minutes from previous meetings and finalized plats and agreements related to Montano Ridge Estates and Sunbeam Drive Townhomes. Further actions included approving an agreement for the Bullhead City Middle School Athletic Fields, a construction contract for the Highway 95/Mohave Drive project, and an agreement for animal housing at the Bullhead City Animal Resource Center. Additionally, the council adopted an ordinance amending the municipal code regarding unreasonable noise and adopted a resolution for the tentative budget for the fiscal year 2025-2026.

The commission discussed park capital projects and recreation program updates. They elected a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for the 2025-2026 city fiscal year. Additionally, they reviewed the Parks & Recreation Commission Bylaws.

The City Council will consider the water and sewer rates and structures outlined in the Bullhead City Water and Sewer Rate Study dated June 26, 2025.
