Veterinary Teaching Hospital - AHU S1 Replacement RFP

Description: This project will replace the existing AHU-S1 system and associated return fan serving the basement, first, and second floors of the Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital. The work includes installation of two new air handling units: one serving office/classroom areas and one serving animal care areas, including a rooftop AHU with structural support, screening, service platform, lightning protection, roof flashing, and walkpads. New supply and return ductwork, insulation, VFDs, Schneider EBO DDC controls, and associated communications infrastructure will be provided in accordance with current codes and UIUC F&S Standards. Existing ceilings and lighting within the project area will be removed and replaced with new SAT lay-in ceilings, code-compliant lighting, lighting controls, and occupancy sensors. AHU-10 will include a glycol runaround heat-recovery system and steam-to-steam humidification with water softening and RO treatment. The project also includes replacement and modernization of the reheat hot-water generation system, including heat exchanger, pumps, valves, separator, expansion tank, piping, insulation, controls, and electrical components. Sixty-one new ATUs and 98 existing reheat coils will be replaced with new coils, valves, accessories, and DDC controls, including all required ceiling removal and restoration.
