The major items of work consist of: CONTRACT I -- GENERAL: Construction for the General Contract will include: Approximately 22,000 lineal feet of 12 and 16-inch PVC and DIP water transmission main; 900 lineal feet of 12 and 16-inch fused PVC directional bores for water transmission mains; approximately 8,000 lineal feet of 12 PVC and DIP sewer force main and installation of new altitude valve vault and electrical and SCADA at the new elevated storage tank site; and sitework at the new elevated storage tank site. CONTRACT II -- TANK & FOUNDATIONS: Construction for the Tank & Foundations Contract will include: A new 500,000-gallon elevated storage tank and foundations. Bids must be submitted on the complete project. Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope, addressed to the City of New Bern Water Resources Administration Office, 527 NC Highway 55 West, New Bern, North Carolina, 28560, and the outside of the envelope must be marked "Bid for West New Bern Water System Improvements -- Contract I -- General" or "Bid for West New Bern Water System Improvements -- Contract II -- Tank and Foundations". All bids must be made on blank forms provided and included in the bound document. The name, address, and license number with limitation and classification of the Bidder must be plainly marked thereon. Contractors are notified that North Carolina G.S. 87 relating to licensing of contractors will be observed in receiving bids and awarding contracts.
