Pit 129-10 Structural Repairs RFP

Description: In general, the work consists of: This project will structurally support pit 129/10 that has failed until the next major project replaces it. Structural steel will be installed inside pit to shore it up and make it safe to access and operate. This pit is at the junction of the campus steam distribution system connecting the east and west central plants. The structure is beyond its useful life and scheduled to be replaced. The concrete shell has deteriorated significantly, necessitating immediate support measures until it can be replaced as part of a major campus project anticipated in the next 5 to 7 years. To ensure the continued reliability of the utility and safeguard personnel who require access for maintenance, structural steel will be installed within the pit, reinforcing its integrity and enhancing safety. Electrical work to include relocation of lighting and electrical conduits.
