North Bascule Gate Hydraulic Cylinder Installation

Description: The City of Rocky Mount seeks a qualified, licensed contractor to install a replacement hydraulic cylinder on the North Bascule Gate at the Tar River Water Supply Reservoir Dam. One of the three cylinders failed mechanically in September 2025, so the gate was secured in the fully upright position with temporary stiff-knee supports and the failed cylinder was removed. The City has procured the replacement cylinder and associated pins, and the contractor must provide the labor, supervision, equipment, tools, rigging, lifting devices, jacks, materials, transportation, and incidentals needed to complete the work.
