Description: The NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) are seeking proposals from developers for the redevelopment of the New Utrecht Library site at 1743 86th Street in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, to create a new state-of-the-art library with 100% affordable housing above it. The project is part of the City's 'Living Libraries' initiative and involves the demolition of the existing library and a DOT-operated municipal parking lot to make way for the new mixed-use development with over 200 affordable housing units. Proposals are due by 4:00 PM on September 4, 2026.
