The U.S. Coast Guard has posted an active presolicitation for an anticipated SDVOSB set-aside, firm-fixed-price design-build contract to replace approximately 120 lead-glazed bathtubs at its Rio Bayamon Housing Base in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The planned work includes asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, removal and replacement of the existing tubs with lead-free bathtubs, and related demolition, restoration, testing, and closeout. The City of Pasadena, in coordination with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), proposes to rehabilitate and seismically retrofit the existing two-lane Holly Street Bridge (No. 53C1041) over the Arroyo Seco Channel, the Arroyo Seco Trail (a Class 1 multi-use trail), and North Arroyo Boulevard. The project includes seismic retrofit and comprehensive bridge rehabilitation work including deck treatment, repair of spalled concrete, and rehabilitation of bridge girders with exposed reinforcing steel to address identified structural deficiencies and extend the service life of the facility. In addition, the project includes upgrades to bring adjacent pedestrian facilities (sidewalk, curb and gutter, and new curb ramps) into compliance with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, specifically at the intersection of Linda Vista Avenue and Holly Street. The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) through the Highway Bridge Program (HBP), authorized by United States Code (U.S.C.) Title 23 and administered by Caltrans. The Contractor is required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and requirements associated with federally funded projects. The Holly Street Bridge spans the Arroyo Seco Flood Control Channel, the Arroyo Seco Trail, and North Arroyo Boulevard. The structure is located southeast of the intersection of Linda Vista Avenue and Holly Street. Constructed in 1925, the concrete arch-deck bridge measures approximately 45 feet in width and 400 feet in length. It accommodates two vehicular travel lanes, one in each direction, as well as walkway along each side of travel lane with no physical barrier between pedestrian and vehicular traffic. According to the 2024 Los Angeles County Bridge Inspection Report, the structure has a sufficiency rating of 32.6 and is classified as structurally deficient, indicating that rehabilitation is required. The primary design components to be implemented as part of the seismic retrofit and rehabilitation project include but are not limited to the following: deck treatment with polyester concrete overlay spalled concrete repair rehabilitation of bridge girders with exposed rebars replace spandrel columns in kind with carbon fiber wrapped polymer ADA improvements at the intersection of Linda Vista Avenue and Holly Street Traffic Signal Modification at Holly Street and Linda Vista Avenue
