Description: The U.S. Coast Guard has posted an active presolicitation for an anticipated SDVOSB set-aside, firm-fixed-price design-build contract to replace approximately 120 lead-glazed bathtubs at its Rio Bayamon Housing Base in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The planned work includes asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, removal and replacement of the existing tubs with lead-free bathtubs, and related demolition, restoration, testing, and closeout. This notice is for planning only, is not the IFB, and will not accept bids; the IFB and full submission instructions are expected later.

The contractor shall conduct pre-construction asbestos containing materials and lead-based paint survey and testing on all materials affected by the work. Remove and replace with new 120 existing lead glazed bathtubs. Provide new steel glazed bathtubs that are free of lead and secure them against walls. Upon completion of work, the contractor shall provide certification showing area to be clear of any asbestos containing materials or lead based paint.
