FY26 Downtown Hyannis Great Streets Project

Description: The Town of Barnstable is seeking a construction contractor through Invitation for Bid FY26-IFB-081 for the FY26 Downtown Hyannis Great Streets Project, a comprehensive streetscape reconstruction of the Historic Downtown Hyannis village. The work includes intersection realignment at Main Street/South Street/Six-Points and South Street/Lewis Bay Road, intersection control modifications at Main/Sea, Main/High School, and Main/Ocean/Barnstable, signalization and timing changes at Main/Old Colony/Center, conversion of Main and South Streets to two-way travel, new bicycle lanes and shared-use paths, and accessibility improvements along Main Street. The contract scope covers furnishing and installing new light poles and pedestrian signals, cement concrete pedestrian curb ramps, bump-outs, median islands and detectable warning panels, drainage upgrades, mill and overlay plus full-depth pavement reconstruction, signs and pavement markings, and all associated incidental work per the construction plans and specifications.
