Clean Heat for All: Packaged Terminal Heat Pump Program - Phase II

Description: The program aims to increase adoption and further monitor performance of cold climate, high efficiency packaged window heat pumps (PWHPs) as a cost effective, minimally invasive heating electrification retrofit solution for New York State buildings. The program will achieve this via a 2-phase PON. Under Phase I, NYSERDA will publish PWHP performance specifications and other requirements. PWHP manufacturers & vendors will apply to Phase I by providing documentation that PWHPs meet those specifications & requirements. NYSERDA will review those application packages and, upon approval, applicants will become PWHP Program Participants and will be eligible to apply for Phase II. No funding will be committed or disbursed under Phase I.

Through Wall Heat Pump Demonstration Program (RFQL)
Development and demonstration of advanced, cold-climate rated, high-efficiency Packaged Terminal and Through-Wall Heat Pumps. The goal of this RFQL is to provide the following to Qualified Demonstration Sites: PTHP equipment, installation, and ongoing performance monitoring at no-cost (subject to funding availability and caps). High-efficiency heating and cooling, increased temperature control, and improved indoor air quality in demonstration site dwelling units. Real-world performance data on PTHP equipment to inform future implementation decisions in demonstration site buildings and other buildings within the owner's portfolio. Potential emissions reduction to help building owner reach LL97 targets.
