Boulder Canyon Trail Repair Project

Description: The Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department (BCPOS) is soliciting proposals from qualified and experienced construction contractors for the repair and reconstruction of a damaged segment of the Boulder Canyon Trail and its associated creekside slope protection wall. The project site is located downstream of the intersection of HW 119 and Fourmile Canyon Drive, immediately east of the HW 119 trail underpass. The affected trail section sustained significant scour, creating a substantial void beneath the finished trail surface as it approaches an existing bridge abutment. In addition, the creekside slope containment structure at this location has been compromised and requires full, permanent reconstruction. Contractors must incorporate protective measures for two existing City of Boulder waterlines that run beneath and through the project area. BCPOS seeks professional construction services to perform a permanent repair of the damaged trail segment and reconstruct the associated slope protection structure. The intent of this project is to ensure public safety and to restore long term structural integrity and reliability of both the trail and adjacent bridge infrastructure.
