Bridge Street Art Panel Project - Call for Artists (Request for Proposal)
Provide an artist or team of artists to create an art installation near the intersection of South Wenatchee Avenue and Bridge Street. The goal of the project is to create an artistic gateway panel to help make the Bridge Street corridor more interesting and vibrant, improve the area as a desirable walking/biking route, and also create a feature to help guide pedestrians from Wenatchee Avenue to the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail and the Clark Bridge. The design should take into consideration ease of maintenance and resistance to vandalism. A laser-cut, powder-coated steel image is desirable to reduce the amount of surface area available for tagging and areas where a person may be concealed. The art panel is planned to measure sixteen feet wide and four feet high and would be anchored onto a concrete curb.

The thematic element, as well as design considerations, limitations, and prohibitions, are included below in the Scope of Design section. The District of West Vancouver is seeking artists or artist teams residing in British Columbia to propose site-specific public art for Place for Sport at 1750 Mathers Avenue, the West Vancouver Secondary School site. The call requests either an art mural or an integrated/fabricated wall installation connected to the redevelopment of the track-and-field facility, with durable, safe, and maintainable work.
