Autonomous Ion Mass Spectrometer Sentry (AIMSS)

Description: The Department of Energy, through TRIAD as the managing contractor for Los Alamos National Laboratory, announced the availability of the Autonomous Ion Mass Spectrometer Sentry (AIMSS) for licensing and potential commercial partnerships. AIMSS is a flight-qualified, high-resolution instrument designed to measure ion composition, plasma density, and temperature in near-Earth space to improve space-weather monitoring and forecasting. This active Special Notice is not a grant program or a solicitation for external development services, and responses are due February 15, 2027, at 5:00 p.m. MST.
