Arkema Interim Action - Phase 1

Description: Containment wall: Construct a continuous wall with a self-hardening slurry consisting of a mixture of ground granulated blast furnace slag, select clay, and water to form a low permeability barrier to contain groundwater; and key wall into the second site aquitard by vibrating beam methods. Site preparation and wall area capping: Perform site preparation, excavation, fill, grading, demolition, surcharge, and temp work prior to containment wall installation; and place an impervious cap over the wall area after installation. Stormwater conveyance improvements: Construct one new 30” outfall and modify one existing 36” outfall including piping, vaults, headwalls, steel piling installation, check valves, and cofferdams; and install a collection and conveyance system to connect the wall cap area to new and existing outfalls.
