The National Institutes of Health is seeking a Study Coordinating Center to expand the RURAL Heart and Lung Study into the Southern Plains region, recruiting and examining up to 2,000 participants across two to four rural counties. The contractor will conduct mobile clinical examinations and follow-up, maintain data and biospecimen repositories, engage rural communities, and integrate the expansion cohort with the existing study. This is a federal research-and-development contract solicitation, not a grant, with proposals due November 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. EST, and a performance period from June 1, 2027, through August 31, 2031.
