The work will include but is not limited to the removal of existing playground equipment and wood fiber safety surfacing and the construction of a new playground including installation of new, inclusive playground equipment and poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing, concrete sidewalk and curbing, drainage infrastructure, fencing, minimal HMA pavement modifications, lawn restoration and tree planting. The contractor is responsible for providing all labor, supervision, trade skills, materials, and equipment required for this project as described in the Construction Documents.

Project type: K–12 aquatic facility modernization (design + construction). Estimated construction budget ~$19,000,000. Procurement: two-phase (this RFQ prequalifies teams for a subsequent RFP/best-value selection). Mandatory: California licensure for architecture/engineering/construction, DIR registration, compliance with prevailing wage and skilled & trained workforce (Project Labor Agreement), capacity for required bonds/insurance, and experience with public school, DSA/OPSC, and Title 24 processes. HMC Architects is the bridging architect and is ineligible to join proposers. $7,500 stipend for respondents completing the RFQ/RFP process but not awarded. Contract duration ~30 months.
