The Air Force is seeking responses from companies capable of providing crash-damaged or disabled aircraft recovery slings that meet the attached statement of work; if no capable provider is identified, the notice says it may become a brand-name sole-source requirement. The attachments describe SLINGMAX Twin-Path slings, including two 110-foot, 10,000-pound slings and two 72-foot, 7,000-pound slings, though the materials also describe differing quantities and configurations. The slings must have a minimum 5:1 design safety factor, be proof-tested to 200% of working load limit, include test and compliance documentation, and be delivered within 30–45 calendar days after award.
