26-121 - Root Collar Excavation RFP

Description: The village will receive bids from qualified contractors to preform root collar excavation services during the calendar year 2026 pursuant to this request for bids. Seeking bids from qualified contractors to perform root collar excavations around younger trees. Excess soil and mulch shall be removed and the root collar exposed. Any girdling roots should be managed appropriately. If a tree is planted too deep, care should be taken to avoid making a hole which could become a trip hazard. Instead, the change in grade should be gradual. A light layer of mulch should be installed to cover any exposed roots without burying the root collar.
