This document provides an update on the Village of Oak Park's Illinois Project for Local Assessment of Needs (IPLAN) process, which functions as a community health assessment and planning framework. The strategic priorities of the IPLAN are structured around the Natural and Built Environment, Mental Health and Substance Use, Gun Violence, and Access to Care. The plan's overarching goal is to advance health equity and improve population health outcomes through a systems-level approach that addresses broader determinants and fosters collaborative, sustainable strategies.

The Board focused on goal setting, including the revision of the vision statement and the establishment of core values and strategic goals. Discussions covered community affordability, economic vitality, and strategies for expanding nightlife and retail occupancy. The Board also reviewed priorities for public health and safety, racial equity action planning, implementation of the Climate Action Plan, and infrastructure improvements such as streetscaping and active transportation planning.

The Board of Trustees engaged in a goal-setting session facilitated by Strategic Government Resources. Key discussion topics included drafting a vision statement, revising the core values, and defining long-term strategic board goals. Specific focus areas involved enhancing community affordability, establishing community safety and health protocols, and implementing initiatives for racial equity and climate action. The meeting also addressed economic vitality and strategies for achieving measurable outcomes related to these priorities.

The Draft Lead Service Line Replacement Plan for the Village of Oak Park outlines a comprehensive strategy to facilitate the replacement of all lead and galvanized requiring replacement (GRR) water service lines within its drinking water supply. This plan details the identification and location of lead and GRR service lines, develops replacement strategies, identifies funding mechanisms, and establishes design and construction criteria. It encompasses current inventory efforts, proposed replacement schedules extending to 2077, prioritization based on high-risk facilities and integration with Capital Improvement Projects, and specific procedures for both community-initiated and property owner-initiated replacements, aiming to ensure compliance with ILSLRNA and LCRI regulations.
