The committee meeting addressed several policy updates, including the use of generative artificial intelligence in education, revisions to charter school transportation policies, weapons policy, threat assessment protocols, dress and grooming standards, audit policies, and public attendance at school events, which will include a clear bag policy starting the 26-27 school year. Financial and administrative items were reviewed, such as multi-year contract agreements, the appointment of a school dentist, and employee assistance and legal services agreements. Additionally, the committee discussed curriculum map developments, the addition of a sheltered English course, a resolution supporting House Bill 41 for interscholastic athletics, and considerations for the class of 2027 commencement ceremony site.

The committee discussed the progress of the Capital Improvement Plan, confirming that building needs have been prioritized and that the plan is being utilized for budgeting and managing capital reserve funds. Additionally, the committee reviewed the proposed 2023/2024 school year calendar, which was developed in coordination with other Lehigh County school districts.

The committee meeting covered several operational and financial items, including a change order for the First Responder Repeater System and the review of a renewed HVAC contract with Johnson Controls. The committee also discussed a proposed lease agreement with the YMCA and reviewed a presentation regarding proposed elementary school bus traffic patterns for the upcoming school year. All action items were moved to the full Board agenda for future approval.
