West New York School District

The 2020-2021 District Goals Action Plan outlines four key areas of focus: maintaining a safe school environment, keeping abreast of curriculum and instructional trends, improving parental involvement and communication, and increasing student access to technology. Specific initiatives include installing security cameras, providing staff development on various topics (NJ Student Learning Standards, technology integration, assessment data use, etc.), conducting parent workshops, utilizing a performance management platform for student assessment, and upgrading technology infrastructure. Success will be measured through indicators such as staff training completion rates, student assessment data, parent meeting attendance, and technology upgrades.

The Town of West New York recognized its schools for their outstanding efforts in promoting technology and for achieving the Future Ready Schools New Jersey certification. The certification program supports schools in preparing students for success in college, career, and citizenship. The town expressed pride in the entire school district for embarking on this endeavor.

The mission is to help students develop academic and social skills to achieve their goals and provide a safe learning environment that fosters positive interactions in a culturally diverse global environment.
