The West Memphis School District's strategic plan focuses on student success and well-being by enhancing opportunities, support systems, and learning environments. Key priorities include eliminating disparities in opportunities, fostering holistic growth, and ensuring safe, supportive learning environments. The plan also emphasizes recruiting and retaining a high-quality, diverse workforce, strengthening system-wide operations, and fostering strong connections between schools, families, and the community. The ultimate goal is to empower every student to pursue their aspirations and shape their own futures.

The meeting covered accreditation, academics, federal grant allocation, honors and AP curriculum, high school graduation, parent engagement facilitators and safety. All 10 campuses were fully accredited by the Arkansas Department of Education for the 2021-2022 school year. The district's enrollment was reported as 4,938 students. The Academies of West Memphis course curriculum meets and exceeds the thirty-eight courses required under the Arkansas Standards of Accreditation. The district adopted a new K-8 literacy program called Wit and Wisdom. The preliminary Title I allocation for the 2022-2023 school year is $3,728,223. 01. The West Memphis School District revamped the Pre-Advanced Placement curriculum. The number of students who graduated from the Academies of West Memphis in 2022 was three hundred and twelve (312). The district has employed parent facilitators at each school. The district adopted clear backpacks for all students and school resource officers and nurses are on each campus.

The special-called meeting addressed personnel updates, including the unanimous approval of a new hire list and resignations, noting the retirement of a long-serving teacher effective June 11. The board unanimously accepted the recommendation for food service, which included anticipated cost savings, a 3% raise for employees, a starting salary of $14.50, and a $250 signing bonus. Additionally, the board approved the recommendation to apply for FEMA Public Assistance through HALO RRS for projects such as the East campus and the Technology building, with management costs being reimbursable. The meeting concluded with an executive session to receive legal updates.
