The Township Board held a meeting to discuss and implement the Township Telecommunications Ordinance in compliance with the Metropolitan Extension Telecommunications Rights-of-Way Oversight Act. The board authorized the Township Supervisor to identify telecommunications providers, provide copies of the ordinance to cable companies and providers, and directed the finance department to return checks received from providers for access and usage of public rights-of-way after November 1, 2002, excluding the application fee.

The ordinance prohibits all marihuana establishments within the boundaries of Sherwood Township pursuant to Initiated Law 1 of 2018, MCL 333.27951, et seq., as may be amended. It outlines violations and penalties, including fines and injunctive relief. The ordinance includes provisions for severability and repeals conflicting ordinances. It takes effect on August 17, 2019.

The ordinance establishes the fiscal year for the Township, extending from March 31 of each year until April 1 of the following year, starting in 1979. It also sets the annual settlement day meeting of the Township Board to be held on the 15th day of the last month of the fiscal year, unless it falls on a weekend or legal holiday, in which case it will be held on the following Monday. Additionally, it stipulates that the annual meeting of the electors of the Township will be held on the last Saturday in the last month of the fiscal year.
