Furthermore, the group addressed the need to streamline the Wellness Guidelines Can-Cannot document to align with the revised District Wellness Program Guidelines and Procedures from May 2022.

The Community Task Force meeting commenced with welcoming remarks from a representative of the Springfield Public Schools Board of Education and introductions of the Co-Chairs. The primary activity of the meeting involved a site tour of three middle schools: Pipkin, Reed, and the under-construction Jarrett facility. Following the tour, the group reconvened for a brief discussion regarding the tour and the collection of written feedback.

The Community Task Force meeting included a tour of Glendale High School. Key discussions focused on economic trends, including population statistics, taxable sales, sales tax revenues, and property valuation, with associated discourse on tax abatement. Information was also presented regarding district funding sources, capital projects, operating fund expenditures, the local tax levy, bonding capacity, and the projected impact of the proposed April 2023 bond issue. Small group reflections followed the presentations, addressing affirmations, insights, and questions concerning the necessity of a new bond, fiscal responsibility, the current tax rate comparison, and optimal timing for the bond election.
