The Indigenous Peoples Education Circle (IPEC) Terms of Reference outlines its role as a collective voice and strategic table for establishing sector-wide standards and practices in Indigenous education across Ontario's colleges. The document emphasizes shaping the college system to support Indigenous learners and amplifying Indigenous voices. Key areas of focus include establishing sector-wide standards, ensuring accountability of government and institutional leadership, advocating for sustainable funding and policy influence, stewarding data and providing insight, developing and implementing strategic action plans, and fostering transparent communication.

The meeting commenced with the introduction of a new Land Acknowledgement. The agenda was approved, and the consent agenda, which included the approval of the Minutes from June 19, 2025, was carried. The Board Chair provided remarks concerning the retreat rescheduling, governance support transition, the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research and Security (MCURES) consultation on governance improvement, and the presidential search. The Interim President reported on recent highlights, including the updated Brand video, Sheridan's Spirit Day, a successful alumnus achievement, expansion of Nursing programs, and the Youth in Policing Initiative. An educational session on good governance principles and Board/management relationships was presented. The Board approved the conferral of 3,476 degrees, diplomas, and certificates in absentia, as the Convocation ceremonies were postponed. An update on in-year enrolment and financial projections noted a significant decline in study permit approvals impacting international enrolment forecasts, while domestic enrolment was projected to exceed budget; mitigation strategies were outlined. An information session was held regarding Enactus Sheridan's student-led social innovation projects. Furthermore, an update on alternative revenue generation, including business assessment tools and an Innovation Advisory group, was provided. The meeting concluded after an in-camera session.

The event marked the Sheridan Convocation 2019, honoring graduates of the Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design. Remarks were provided by the Master of Ceremonies, Carol Altilia, who opened with a territorial acknowledgement. The ceremony included the singing of the National Anthem and a video message from Chancellor Hazel McCallion, who congratulated the graduates. President and Vice Chancellor Dr. Janet Morrison welcomed the graduating class of 6,699 graduates, emphasizing the transformative impact of post-secondary education. The Valedictorian, Amalia Williamson, delivered an address reflecting on the unique identity and passion of the creative arts graduates. The session concluded with the presentation of diplomas, degrees, and certificates, including special designations like Honour Cords, the Board of Governors' Silver Medal, and the presentation of Sweetgrass to Indigenous students.

The meeting included the approval of the re-appointment of governors and the appointment of Board Officers and Committee Chairs for 2025/26. There was also approval of the suspension of six programs. The Chair thanked the outgoing President and Vice Chancellor and welcomed the Interim President and Vice Chancellor. The Board discussed the Ontario College Student Experience Survey results and an upcoming consultation on improving college and university Board governance. New programs were presented and approved, along with the 2024/2025 Audited Financial Statements and External Auditor's Report. Updates were provided on the program efficiency reviews, capital planning, and the alignment between the Strategic Plan and Critical Response Plan. The Board also received an update on the presidential search.

Sheridan's new strategic plan, titled "Galvanizing Education," aims to shape the future of post-secondary education by delivering unique academic experiences and preparing students to be future leaders. The plan is structured around three core priorities: trailblazing education, organizational excellence, and sustainable growth. Its overarching goal is to transform higher education and establish Sheridan as a leading institution for groundbreaking, standard-setting education, fostering highly skilled, creative, and resourceful individuals.
