The work shall include but is not limited to the following: • The National Mall and Memorial Parks will supply the contractor while working in the East Potomac Maintenance Yard, water and electricity at locations approved by the COR. Contractor shall supply the COR a copy of the local EPA, DEP, IBC, NFPA, ASTM, OSHA, ANSI, NEC, IEC code requirements when requested on specific details of project. Contractor is responsible for removal and cost of all demolition items. These items will be hauled off site to a location per local and federal codes. Waste Plan/Tracking is required. A 50% diversion rate minimum shall be reached (meaning diverted from landfill). Contractor shall show by documentation a manifest for all items that are removed off site (wood, metal, trash, etc.). This manifest shall show items that are removed for recycling, reuse, trash, etc. A sample manifest will be provided or contractor can submit their own. Trash, and any demolition debris, must be removed from site by COB daily. See attached file.

Built in 1836 in the Federal style, it is situated on nearly 2 acres with mature plantings which include a 19 th century stone barn foundation. The house has approx. 2,656 SF of living area. On the first floor, there are 2 gracious parlors; a large kitchen with a historic fireplace/hearth; and a smaller room leading to the back yard. On the second floor, there are 2 large bedrooms; 1 smaller bedroom or office; and 1 full bath. There is a covered deck off the kitchen. A gravel driveway offers parking for two vehicles.

The work includes construction of a 140-vehicle paved parking lot for Lake Trailhead. Also included is the extension of a paved multi-use path to the trailhead area. The trailhead includes site furnishings like comfort stations, drinking fountain, three-panel kiosk, masonry seat wall, boulders, and benches. This project will improve well-used areas and increase the parking capacity and accessibility.
