The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (Northern California Area Office) is soliciting a contractor to provide service, maintenance, inspection, filling, hydrostatic testing, repair, and on-call response for CO2 fire suppression system cylinders and portable fire extinguishers at multiple Northern California power plants and facilities. The estimated contract is a five-year award (base year June 26, 2026–June 25, 2027 plus four option years) and is set aside for Small Business, NAICS 541990. Proposals are due May 27, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. EDT and the solicitation is a procurement (not a grant).

Principal components of work include: Maintain 13 vehicular access points by re-hanging gates and re-stringing wire where needed. The contractor will repair one pedestrian chicane. They will also replace failing or burned posts, corners (40) and braces (20) with fire-resistant materials. Contractor will correct gaps in approximately 20 existing stream-crossings.

Principal components of work include: Using NRCS standards, or better, the Contractor will construct 10,200 feet of fire resistant 4-strand, Wildlife Friendly, exclusion fencing. Using NRCS standards, or better, the Contractor will install 3,400 feet of Let-Down Fence below the reservoir’s 440’ above sea level line to allow staff to lower fencing in high water years to reduce the risk of it entangling boaters and anglers. Contractor will install 5 vehicle access gates adjacent to accessible “U” chicanes using non-combustible materials in the existing fence lines perpendicular to east side road to livestock and pedestrian access through each exclusion area.
